east coast v. west coast mountain biking
my brother and i were home in wh, CT. for the thanksgiving holiday. to get some exercise and some bonding time together, we went to Central Wheel in Farmington to rent some mountain bikes and take a ride around the reservoir.
the trails we road were significantly tougher than the trails i had ridden just two days before out here in santa cruz, california. besides the difference in temperature, the major differences included the ground itself (hard and unforgiving), the rocks and roots (tough as nails), and the ups (they weren't nearly as tough as they are out here).
anyways, the ride gave me a much greater appreciation for the amazing array of trails that we have in northern california.
